Wearing
- Wear your sterling silver jewellery to ensure it’s at its brilliant best! Do not keep them stored away or unused for long.
- Save accessorising for the finishing touches when getting ready. Your jewellery should be the last thing you put on to save them from the various chemicals found in make-up, hairspray, perfumes, etc.
- Do not shower while wearing your jewellery. Avoid swimming or taking them to the beach where they can come in contact with chlorine, salt water, sand, or be directly affected by harsh sunlight.
- Take off your jewellery before any kind of household cleaning. You would not want these delicate pieces to come in contact with harsh soaps and chemicals found in cleaning agents.
- Avoid wearing jewellery to the gym or while exercising. Perspiration and the risk of tangling in any equipment are not good for your jewellery.-
Cleaning
- Your silver jewellery with no gemstones can be easily cleaned at home with warm water and mild soap. Dry it completely with a lint-free, microfiber cloth before storing it. Do not use tissue paper or a harsh towel for wiping as it can easily scratch the jewellery surface.
- If you’re short on time or unsure and don’t want to take any chances with your silver, we recommend you take it to a professional silver cleaner.
Storing
- How you store your jewellery is most crucial to ensure longevity. We recommend keeping them in the original pouches they come with. If not, you can store them packed in zip lock bags or soft cloth pouches. Have a separate compartment or keep your jewellery away from other pieces in your jewellery box to avoid scratching.
Your silver jewellery is happiest when stored in a cool, dark and moisture free place. You can store them in airtight boxes. - Fasten chain snaps to avoid them from getting tangled.
- For added safety, you can place little Silica sachets you get in bags, that will soak away any moisture.
Gemstones
- Gemstones don’t require much care, however with regular use they can too, catch dust or moisture. The best way to clean them would be to gently wipe them with a lint-free microfiber cloth from time to time.
Good silver that is worn regularly and cared properly would always stay in the best of its shape. However, another great tip is to ensure that you buy silver from reputable jewellery makers only.
